About Me

Dave Brashear is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy, and maintains a private practice in Metairie and Covington, Louisiana.

With over 35 years experience as a clinician, and a graduate of Tulane specializing in couple and sex therapy, he is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among his areas of expertise are chemical dependency, communication difficulties, problems of desire, arousal, and orgasm, and family difficulties.

In addition, Dave has taught at Tulane and Southern University of New Orleans, presented at National conferences and to general audiences on topics ranging from children of alcoholics to family therapy. Dave is a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. His treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. He incorporates effective, proven approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, he works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals.
